Doing a test of Mandrake 8.1 (my wife, who is no techie, would love to move away from Windows, if Linux were easy enough for her) and, bearing in mind that I want it for a Windows/Mac type of user, I am very impressed. In a recent review, www.theregister.co.uk gave it a big thumbs up, saying it was easier to install than XP, and I am inclined to agree.
However, I have come up with a slight problem when trying to log into the Linux Jr BBS. When I log in, it takes me back to where I was, as normal, and I can see that I am indeed logged in. When I then select a thread to view and possibly reply to, I am no longer logged in. If I select the "Back" button, I am now logged in. I haven't tried it in Galeon on the same machine (only just thought of that). Has anyone seen this before, and/or know what is going on?

Sounds to me like you have cookies turned off.
You'll need to turn them on in order to stay logged in![]()

Sorted. During install I must have set the date incorrectly - it was a day ahead of the actual date.hummm *- kinda strange. *anyway there was another thread which was a wee bit like this.

As you saw, mine was a few years off.I think I didn't select that the hardware clock was set to GMT and thats what caused my problem.
GMT is, at most, 23 1/2 hours off of UTC. Not months or yearsAs you saw, mine was a few years off.I think I didn't select that the hardware clock was set to GMT and thats what caused my problem.
