Well, i just did some looking up into it.

    The forums.empirequest.com is using vbulliton.

Also has a larger database with more users and uses php.

If you compare the sites speed, linuxjunior is deffently slower.
    as http://forums.empirequest.com is speedy.

Let me knwo what you all think.
    Thanks
    Anthony
Ah, that does make sense. PHP/sql solutions are just about always faster than cgi solutions.

I never really had problem with the speed, but with complete outages. I highly doubt that the problem comes from the script. When I had the outages I couldn't even access the static pages, nor the pinehead site. There was just absolutely no response from the server.

Anyway, I set up the php/mysql yabb version here:
    http://www.linuxjunior.org/yabbse/index.php

The database is totally outdated now, don't worry about it. I did not notice any speed difference whatsoever between the perl-cgi and the php/mysql version, but go ahead and find it out for yourself.

I actually saw quite a bit of speed increase. Plus I think it's lighter on the server load.

    GO php!!!

That SQL site feels a bit faster.. I don't have a problem with speed, it's more the times when I can't access the site for hours.
