Mail in Bulk

Hi all,

I am having a issue regarding the mail server. I am using RHEL 2.1 with Postfix as mail server. The issue is when i send a mail to any of the yahoo or other mail sevrers they put that mail in Bulk.

Also i had configured my own dns. When i check the my domain on DNSSTUFF.com for spam db lookup , it gives me the following result.

PTR :: [n/a: misc]MISSING! "My IP" has no reverse DNS entry; some mail servers may not accept your mail.

Please help me.

Looks like the IP address of your mail server isn't in DNS.

Make sure an nslookup of the IP address returns the name of the server, or a name in the domain from which the mail is being sent. So if my-site.org is sending the mail, the reverse DNS should resolve to someserver.my-site.org.

Your ISP may be able to set this for you, unless you own the Internet IP addresses used by your server.

The problem is that you have not set up your DNS server properly.

In DNS configuration, there are two parts: Forward Lookup Zones and Reverse Lookup Zones. For email servers to work properly, you must set up both zones. Otherwise, some mail servers will refuse your mails unless they are able to do a reverse lookup to confirm the mail server do exist.
