Why do they call Wednesday "hump day" when most people get laid on weekends? ???

Jeez, I'm kinda surprised that you guys (especially kenshi) didn't recognize the best Blues tune to ever come out of east Texas, "They call it Stormy Monday" by T-bone Walker. I'm shocked and dismayed. Well, maybe not dismayed- that's pretty strong.

    Re: Well....

Lord and Wednesday's worse, Thursday's oh so sad

***I had to look it up, as I haven't listened to T-Bone Walker in years. *I love the blues. *I have Robert Johnson's King of the Delta Blues Singers, Alligator Records 25th Anniv. Boxed Set, the Chess Records Boxed set, and on and on and on. *My wife doesn't like the blues. *She says that it sounds like a bunch of old men singing poorly (she had just listened to R. Johnson, who was in his early twenties when he died). *Oh, well. *I love her anyway .***

They call it stormy Monday, but Tuesday's just as bad

    Re: Well....

YEAH!!!!! The great thing about Stormy Monday is ALL the people who covered it; BB King, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, The Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull (if you can believe it!), Bobby "Blue" Bland, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat and a LOT more people I've forgotten. I've always thought that Stormy Monday was a benchmark blues tune that bridged Blues and Rock. "Crossroad" got the publicity, "Stormy Monday" got the job done!
