America is a land of commerce. They'd exchange their freedom for $$$.
I would like to take a moment to, from the buttom of my heart, thank the americans for great laws like the DMCA.
I mean the land of the free ? BAH !
/me puts on flamewar armor..... FLAME ON!

i like most american things, but u gotta admit that the US is weird at times. Clinton got in trouble for getting his dick sucked, yet the US has the biggest porn industry in the world (ask GnuVince's right hand)
erhhh. Vince is from Canada..
i know, but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the US produces a lot of porn![]()
The US is a big buracracy that leans towards hurding the people instead of being by the people.
I agree. The United States stopped being a representative democracy about 2 weeks after the Constitution was ratified. We've become a Financial Republic driven by dollars. The only way legislation gets passed is if someone can make a buck off it, and the average citizen is considered first for his ability to produce, and not for his value as a member of society. The old Bolsheveks were right, a capialitist society holds its citizens in economic slavery, doing nothing but producing for the ruling elite.
Hrm...so what system would you rather have?I agree. *The United States stopped being a representative democracy about 2 weeks after the Constitution was ratified. *We've become a Financial Republic driven by dollars. *The only way legislation gets passed is if someone can make a buck off it, and the average citizen is considered first for his ability to produce, and not for his value as a member of society. *The old Bolsheveks were right, a capialitist society holds its citizens in economic slavery, doing nothing but producing for the ruling elite.![]()
Politicians and corporate entities are not necessarily representative of "America". You will find that the "average American", when asked to comment on aspects of the DMCA such as this: "Some e-book licenses, for example, prohibit the reader from reading the book out loud." Will say "Gee, you mean I can get in trouble for reading to my child from an e-book? WTF!
Think a little before you lump "Americans" together in a generalization. I did'nt cause this to happen, yet I am an American. You got something against me?
What was the law that would've made Linux illegal alread? SCMAAA? Something like that? That would've been extremely bad. I think the best places to live on Earth are:
-Europe countrys (France, UK, Germany, Italy, etc.)
-New Zeland and Australia
-Canada
The USA is not a good place IMO.
