    ~lart local record store !!

I went and brought the new Shakira album a few days ago... and guess what was written on the cover... under the price label..??

    "Will NOT playon PC/MAC"

Apparently my cdplayer, my DVD player and my DVD-Rom are all PC's or MACs ...

    I'm SO ANGRY !!

Well it was printed on the cover... but my local record tried to cover it up... ALL the cds had the prices tag in the same corner... right on top of the notice...

I'm going to yell at them Monday...

In the late '70's, my favorite musician, Frank Zappa, was in a real bad situation with his record company. He had recorded a very large amount of music for an album, and wanted to release it all as a 3-record set. His label said no, we'll release it as 3 different albums, we'll make more money that way. Zappa got so pissed, he went to a local FM rock station, went on the air, told anyone who wanted his new album to set up their tape recorders, and PLAYED THE WHOLE DAMNED ALBUM - NON-STOP!!! Needless to say, he got sued, and through the suit, he was able to get the rights to ALL his music.
Zappa was a true believer in free speech; I'd love to see how he would react to the new restrictions on music. I miss him. :-/

Ok it's wrong to steal.. and I know that I'm not suppose to copy my CDs and give them away. But why are they restricting my right to listen my music, which I paid for, the way I want to... I just happen to listen to my tunes on my PC..

I think I'll go to my local record store wearing a T Shirt that says :

    "Will NOT pay at counter"

    Sorry !

Hmm, I would like to see if it plays on Linux, or is this a hardware thing.

I've seen that stupid fucking stuff at my local record stores, too. I almost freaked out the first time I saw it. That's just unbelievably stupid. The record companies think they can prevent people from copying the cd's that way, but of course it's the normal honest people that have to suffer. >

How can this be legal? >
