I got a new plan, and it involves OpenBSD. So how about a little trade? I have FreeBSD 4.3, Debian 2.2r3, and Slackware 8.0. Name your poison.

Why not just do a FTP install? Only one floppy image to download. Then you install minimal stuff...

    Re: OpenBSD

Because I have a 28k connection. Would it take long to just install enough for firewall and routing abilities? ppp is the only app I can think of that I need.

After almost three years, I doubt they will be much interested. ;D

At least, it's nice to know that someone read all those old posts.

dude, you should REALLY read up on OpenBSD. you will find that it is NOT the same as Fedora or Linux.

Well, technically yes. But for general use no. For servers, yes it is different -- WAY FUCKIN BETTER MAN!

I love OpenBSD. It is by far my #1 choice for servers. Red Hat is #2. For desktops, thats iffy. RedHat/FedoraCore generally are better since the apps are there. But for GNOME/KDE/Fluxbox and general tools -- they are about equal.
