Cannot use MySQL functions with PHP 5.0.4 on Fedora Core 4

I recently installed Fedora Core 4. (I was having trouble upgrading PHP and MySQL on Fedora Core 3.)

I'm having trouble using the mysql functions in PHP. I forgot to install the php-mysql package when I installed the server. Is there some method for enabling the mysql functions in PHP? Do I need to change the php.ini function? or do I need to run something else?

You may need to install the php-mysql and the php-odbc packages to get it to work.
