I've had okay luck with WinME but only after I edited system.ini a little.
98SE...crash crash crash reboot, repeat.
XP, no crashes, nothing worked properly either.
Let's see here:
1. Win98: ok, but not stable enough.
2. Win95: yeah, right!
3. IE5.5: ok, but, still not stable enough.
4. Office 95 Pro: if I update it to be able to read 97/2k, then it is usable...but only slightly. I really only use it for work related crap. I do like Schedule+, but only because I like Stephen Covey related stuff.
5. NT 4 ws: Driver support is iffy at best.
6. W2k: ok, I guess.
7. Works: Good enough for my uses.
As for the hardware, it depends on which product. I think the mice are nice, but most are made by Logitech, I think. The keyboards are too far out for me (made by Keytronics, I think).
Their games are really the best thing that they put out. Reasonable speed, don't crash much (if your os is up to snuff), fun, relatively high replayability.

Outside of WinZip - not Gates' - I don't like Win-anything.
Windows 3.1 worked ok for me on my 386 but it wasn't without it's hitches. Besides that I havn't used anything from MS that was worth it's money. I tried VC++ at the University one time just to check it out and somehow it deleted my source. (It crashed and erased my floppy with it .... ???). I am so glad I had it backed up on a Solaris Server there :-).
Our NT 4.0 domain servers work flawlessly.
My 2k desktop works flawlessly.
Outlook 2000 plain ol' sux.
My XP pro desktop works flawlessly.
Our Win 95/98 desktops blow.
Windows 98 (se and regular) - Worst product ever. Reinstalled on a monthly basis. Still have backup hard drive I used to put important stuff on while I reinstall windows.
Media Player - Bogged the system down constantly
MS Office - Crashed often. Saved corrrupted files. annoying paperclip
MS intellimouse - ball clogged and made loud noises. had to clean on weekly basis. Using Logitech optical mouse currently. No problem
Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5 - Awful. Prone to crashing. (surprise). took out the good features of 4.0
IE 4.0 - Not as bad as 5+. still crashes. better speed, reliability and some features i liked better than 5+. but still sucks
Windows 95 - Not bad. not great. not bad. fast, was good for the time it came out.
DOS really old (late 80's) - Not bad. Don't remember many crashes. Some cool games.
Netmeeting - Bad. kept changing the volume of my microphone. would crash when tried to change it back on occasion. would never connect (the 2 times I tried)
MSN messenger - BAD BAD BAD EVIL EVIL BAD BAD!!!!
I think my new sig explains it all.
Yes, though I hate to admit it, Win2k has been all right, yet not a contender to Linux or Unix.
Win2k is not so bad. And, IMHO, Citrix Metaframe XP running on Win2k Terminal Server has an incredible uptime with hundreds of users beating the crap out of it every day.
word and excel do okay.
i have yet to see an MS os that can hold a candle to linux. i use win2k at work and what a slow freaking POS.
outlook - our email is really bad. very slow, crashes all the time.
i am just so glad redhat has that cygwin stuff.
