    How to Set Password for files

    Hi All,

    Is there any way to set Password for files...for an Example
    If I say,

    cat example.conf

    It should ask for the password....and I should be able to set the password for editing the file...

    IF IT IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO IT ..PLZ SHARE WITH ME........

    thats a tough one mate,

    you are obviosuly trying to hide your configuration, data you could just encrypt to keep your information hidden, can you not set permissions so only root can view the file?
