Pretty nice Mountainman, I upgraded my system about 7 months ago: http://webpages.charter.net/srose2/system.html

Very nice system you have planned there. One comment - since you are springing with the sblive, why not upgrade on the speakers a little? I got the Altec Lansing ATP3 speaker set, and it kicks ass. I also understand the Klipsch speakers are very good. Everything else you have there looks great. What mobo are you getting specifically?

Also, what hard drive are you getting? Make sure it is ATA 100. (Unless you are planning to go SCSI).

the HD is where I run into some probs. I fouled up and got a 40 g hd at 5200rpm for my old system. Well, the bios doesnt support it (never even thought about it until after I couldnt get it to work) and they dont make my mobo or any bios updates for it any more. So, I am stuck with a 40 GB hd that I have to use.

That looks like a good board. It'll support a 40 Gig drive for sure!

Just a heads up, I haven't been able to get my Radeon 7200 64bit to work under XFree86-4.x with direct rendering. Everything else works fine though.

Well, I'm looking to get this MB and DDR RAM also but I've got the problem...

    Which DDR modules?? PC1600, PC2100, PC2400 or PC2700 or what?? ( I think PC2700 is DDR333 )

The MB MFG site says that it can take DDR200 and DDR266 ???

But DDR MFGs labels as DDR2100 or DDR2400 ???

Can someone help me out please ?? Thanks
