    The Promised Land

You know your life is going to take a turn for the better when you find out that the university you are applying for is in Google's "Computers > Software > Operating Systems > Unix > BSD > OpenBSD > Prominent Users" category ;D

Finally, I'll be able to take programming courses that don't insult my intelligence*! Wahoo!!

This page outlines the different computer-related courses offered at the university:

    http://www.registrar.ualberta.ca/cal...ses/CMPUT.html

Number of times "windows" found in page: 0
Number of times "linux" found in page: 1

    That's good enough for me!

    * I once took a programming course in grade 10, it covered turbopascal. I finished the entire thing in just under 2 hours, and it was supposed to take me 3 weeks...

In Alberta? It's OpenBSD, OpenBSD, OpenBSD and OpenBSD again. Solaris too. I think. I mean. Tsť..

Sounds nice. UofA is a pretty decent school too. I trust you'll be going for computer science or something of the same sort?

    Hmmm...lol. I remember when I was young(er). His self-confidence brings a tear to my eye<blink,blink>.

Feztaa...I am glad that you have found a school that you feel will fulfil your needs. That is very important. Congrats.

    Cheers

    Nope, I'm taking Medicine! YEAH!!

It was either Computer Science or Engineering, and I figured CS would be more fun (or less boring, depending on how you look at it).
