An OS ain't no tool; it's an OS. *And I'm talking basic utilities (ls, ln, cp, ps, find, etc.). PLus, I always have those annoying #file# if I quit without saving. Always. No way to get rid of them except to use (setq audto-save-default -1) in which case, a power outtage or a crash could make me lose my work.

I don't know where all these rules are coming from. I feel like a member of the Borg community. :

So if you're such hot stuff, why not hack the Emacs code and make it save it's backup files as .file.swp instead of #file#. ;D
