Actually I have heard stories of gay guys "date raping" other guys. I don't like the idea of my bunghole being spelunked while I'm under the influence. Plus most serial killers are homosexual. Look at Geoffrey Dahmer. I think I'd rather be raped than dismembered and then raped. (By the way, I don't have anything against gays. I just wanted to throw that out there.)

going back to the original topic:
when i got my BSEE degree i over-specialized in a field that
had very few openings at the time. it toook me ten years to recover
from my poor choice. so my recomendation:
dont over specialize, because years from now theres no telliing
whatt job skills will be in demand. xml, php, oracle,
unix, building flatscreens or pids, who knows what will be in demand 5 or 10 years from now?
also: multitask your life, being busy at work or school doesnt rule out
being in a relationship at the same time. find a smart +/or cute babe!
(because stupid +/or ugly ones will not improve with age)

I think that after my degree, I will want to stay away from anything that has to do with IT, because I'll be able to learn it on my own anyway.

IT can be fun, but most managers and company owners are not in the least techincally inclined. They jsut dont get what hoops IT guys have to go thru to meet their demands. Also plan on wearing alot of hats. Many not in the slightest technical.

Yeah. I just graduated college, and I'm finding out that I might not even want to go into the field. Being forced to work on computers for 8 or more hours a day kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth about computers. I think I'm gonna look for something just vaguely computer related, like a reactor controller in a power plant or something.

Do what you love doing.... I know I'm. I never get tired of working with computers even 12 hours a day or 14.... But if you do the thing you love doing it, you will be fine. Just because the field makes money and just because there is more jobs doesn't always mean it's a good job for you. If you don't like what you are doing, you will get tired pretty soon.
