    routing issue with wrt54g

I have and odd one and im sure im just overlooking something but arg!

I have a Vidalinux box connected to a linksys wrt54g router via rj-45. Also a Gentoo box connected with a wireless card.

Now on the Vida I set dhcp and the router assigns an address to the pc fine.
It is able to access the router config in the browser as well as ping it.
The Router connects to my Isp fine via pppoe in the router
the Vida box however still cannot browse any sites or ping sites.
It returns that the network is unreachable.

The kick in the pants is the wireless gentoo is working fine. Id expected to have more trouble with wireless given the state of things but well what u gonna do.

The question is what the heck is up with Vida box not routing online but can adin the router fine?

alright so I have it routing on the net now but there still an issue.

for some reason I have to dhcpcd -k eth0 then dhcpcd again and it works fine.

Why wont it work at boot? Since im not actually changing anything Id think it should work without that.
