You mean you reinstalled until it stopped bsod'ing for a while, and backed up that setup to restore it when it decayed?
Yes and no. Yes: I reinstalled monthly like Agar. No: I didn't have anything to backup to. But, I did have a little list of essential items that needed to be loaded after a fresh reinstall.

I wish I had used my technique. I had some really crappy sound drivers and I had to install them a certain way or Windows would blue screen on startup. It wasn't fatal but sound wouldn't work. The problem is that I could never remember how I did it. If I had just backed it up, I would have been set. Unfortunately it was before cd burners came out and after hard drives were too big to fit on a few floppies.

When windoze people experience Linux, I think they are either turned off right away (fear of thinking), or they feel a sense of freedom (no explanation necessary). 8)

my first experience with linux was yea its cool but why bother?
i was a mac user but still.

then after i had my windows box i knew i needed to do something to it cause windows just wasn't working, but it still took me a long time to get linux working enough on there to really use it.

I've never actually sat down and played with a mac. What does a mac use for showing different drives.
