    Re: SuSE gets sued

well lets play devils advocate, the article says : contain some program name that apparently violates a registered trademark.

if ch-b was trade marked, would you want someone else making money off it and not you?

it's all about money, the world revolves around it. : :

i wouldnt say anything against it if it would really violate some trademarks but the lawyer who sues SuSE is well known in germany for his behavior of registering trademarks and then sueing the companies to get money from them. There is also another lawsuit against a german computer magazine who made cds with a program called explore2fs, the name Explorer was a trademark by a company named Symicron although they never released any program named explorer ..

How the hell are you going to sue someone for using illegal programs of someone else's? This law suit would be a joke in the United States. (Well... our judicial system is beginning to be a joke itself, so who knows.) It would be like sueing someone for buying a radio that fails one of the FCC rules. And the explore2fs thing is a joke too. explore2fs is not the same as Explore. It's nice to know our judicial system isn't the only one going downhill.

well then email that guy immediately to inform him that some company called Microsoft has a product called Internet Explorer. Then let him sue their pants off. Even if they just sue the german department of MS i'll be happy

    Re: SuSE gets sued

The program was 'Krayon' if I read correctly (I think it was in another article) The person suing SuSE owns a copyright for Crayon (I assume thats some sort of windork program)
Sad stuff really. Its one guy that messes it up for everyone. :-[
