Cool, I really hope they can pull the distro out of the rut that Corel ended up putting it into.

I agree with you, Ashcrow. An interesting sideline: Lindows has licensed the Corel/Xandros distro for a base system for them to build on. I would have posted the link yesterday, but I couldn't even access it!

I have a vested interest in xandros- I have the Deluxe version of CorelLinux 1.0 AND 1.2. The inflatable Tux sits on my box as I write this, and HDB5 is CorelLinux, still functioning. Corel was the first Linux I got up and running, and I learned a LOT from it. I think that xandros could have a winner if: A. the rumors were true on the Corel User BB's that there was a lot more accessibility to WIN9x in the unreleased 3.0 version. and B. xandros markets their version as an adjunct to a Microsoft O.S. Once people use a Linux O.S. in DIRECT comparison to Microsoft systems, I think that they will see the superiority of Linux.

Cool. I signed up, too (I hope I get selected to test it)

The Xandros Desktop Beta 1 is Debian-based and includes the 2.4.16 Linux Kernel, KDE 2.2.2 with many Xandros enhancements, such as, Windows networking interoperability, easy to use control panels, a connection Wizard, a printer Wizard and the Xandros File Manager.
That sounds a lot like my current setup...

So now we have Libranet and Xandros...what other Debian based distros will there be?
