    Check this out folks!

    I am working with this company now, via my company, to do groundwater modeling. Check out the "links" section. They use Unix/Linux and the president is a contributor!

    Look at their network specs too. Man, would I love to work there!

    Computers used by Principia are HP 9000/700 series PA-RISC workstations running HP-UX, Intel workstations running Red Hat Linux/Intel, Alpha workstations running Red Hat Linux/Alpha, a Beowulf supercomputer and personal computers running Microsoft Windows.

    The workstations are networked together with a hybrid 100VG-AnyLAN, 100BaseT and 1000BaseT network through a Layer 3 switch. A secondary 10BaseT and T1 network is used for low bandwidth traffic.

    Peripherals include monochrome and color printers, a 36" large format printer, an E-size digitizer and a scanner.

    The Principia network contains several hundred gigabytes of disk storage. Removable media include DAT, 8mm and TRAVAN tapes, CD-R and CD-RW, and ZIP disks.

    My company uses Winsuck98 workstations on a Novell network.

    Could be worse -- WinBlows on a WinBlowsNT network. Somehow God allowed me to start getting *NIX in here. But at the rate of 1 box every 2 years -- Ill be dead by the time we fully convert. Which is better than dealing with NT (Nasty Taste).

    AS/400 mainframe (credit processing)
    OS/390 mainframe (credit processing)
    WinNT 4 Servers (Domain / DNS / File / cc:Mail)
    WinNT 4 / Win2K Workstations
