    XFCE!!

It is amazingly fast, very configurable, and you can configure it all with menus, no config file editing required (although you can edit config files if you want, it is not neccessary).

    www.xfce.org I think
I agree with Feztaa. It is both an wm and a de. It uses the gtk libraries, so you could compile and run just about anything that runs on gnome. Very slick.

Ashcrow: Like all advertising, you learn to ignore it... The only reason I don't use Opera now is because the cookies were kinda screwy in the latest version. I'm letting them work on it a bit -- and using Moz in the mean time. I don't know about you, but I much prefer a speedy fast browser that loads in seconds, even if it has ads, to one that's slow and not as good, even if it has no ads

I'd say use IceWM with one of the mac themes to start. It is fast and easy to use and you can setup up iceprefs so that all the config stuff can be done with a GUI. And X Win Commander for a GUI file manager. XWC is a clone of Windoze Explorer, but with much, much more funtionality. It is very fast and easy to use.

Another vote for IceWM. It's hella fast and themeable...
