    that stuff in top

    does anyone know what all the fields in top mean? some are obvious, like PID, user, %CPU/MEM, TIME, COMMAND. but then there are fields like PRI, NI, SIZE, RSS....... wtf do those mean? and do i really need to even pay attention to them?

    [tt] PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND

    PRI = Priority
    NI = Nice
    Size = Memory used??
    RSS = Reserved Share Size??

    Not sure about the last two but PRI and NI are almost the same. Higher priority = Lower nice = daemon/program get's more CPU cycles.
