I agree. There are ups and down for both. I like Linux better than FreeBSD, but Open/NetBSD are on the exact smae line as Linux IMHO.
I don't know about linux being better than FreeBSD or vise-versa, but Linux has better hardware support which helps when you can't build a box that FreeBSD completely supports.
NetBSD is cool!
linux has superiour hardware support, and since linux 2.4.10 it no longer trails BSD when it comes to virtual memory managment
BSD is better for server end tasks. Much more robust. For workstations, my vote is for Linux.
Schotty, actually for a workstation, Linux or BSD have no difference. For a desktop, Linux is much better.
