I have now got these BSD files on my HD.
base30
bsd
comp30
etc30
man30
xbase30
xfont30
xserv30
I have set up my boot disk and managed to boot the install program, one there I can't work out how I'm supposed to partition the HD. I get to fdisk, or what I think is fdisk. I am running windows and debian at the moment, so I just want to add a new partition. Unfortunately I can't work out how to add a new partition. Help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

BSDs do what they called slicing of HDDs which is basically marking space for BSD to install ( NOT partitioning yet ).... So when you start up BSD disk program, it will ask you for how much space your want your BSD installer to slice it .... Take it as a total space that you want for BSD ... Then you can partition inside that slice with your heart desire ( /boot, /ec, /home, /var and stuff ) ...
I'm guessing that you are trying to do HDD install?? Then make sure you don't slice up your drive over those files and preserve that partition from giving it to BSD .....
