I have a couple Korn songs on my linux box. They're in Ogg format, no less![]()
Why have I never seen korn on a linux box?

cuz bash is betterWhy have I never seen korn on a linux box?
seriously, i don't know why it's hardly used on linux but at school we have a SCO unix server and it has korn shell and i must say i really prefer bash over korn
i dunno.
When i first learned how to create useful scripts, I learn using korn on a AIX server. That was a couple fo years ago....the thought just came to me.....
Right, I'm an idiot![]()
Probably because it isnt licensed under the gpl. Not saying all software that comes with your distro is, but most of it is and bash is just as good as ksh. The only advantage ksh has is that it is the posix standard shell which means you write a script in ksh you can run it on any platform. But, just writing your scripts in perl would take care of that and then you can use bash and the gpl.
I thought someone came up with the Public domain Korn Shell for just this reason (pdksh). At least that's what I heard somewhere.
