    Don't bother buying a PHP book. PHP is easy to learn. Just learn it from the PHP manual.

    MySQL/PHP Database Applications by Jay Greenspan (of webmonkey) and Brad Bulger worked well for me.

    Anything other than that just refer to the comments above.
