    GCC Install help

    Hey all
I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I'm running RH 7.2 and have the default GCC 2.96 installed in /usr/bin
I felt like playing with a newer implementation so i downloaded the source for gcc3.0.4 and did
./configure --program-suffix=-3 (so as to stear clear of problems with the other gcc)
    make bootstrap
    make install
installed in /usr/local/bin and /usrlocal/lib etc...
    and all went well
my question is I'm pretty sure I need to update librarys in my library PATH ??
    I'm I right?
I want to just be able to call this with
    g++-3
    is this possible?

    thanks
    eric

    Re: GCC Install help

    Never mind *;D ;D ;D

    figured it out.

    just added
    /usr/local/lib
    to etc/ld.so.conf
    and ran
    ldconfig

    then renamed g** in /usr/local/bin to g**3
    all good now

    later
    eric
