Is anyone planning on buying the sneak preview version?

well, Newsforge has a review of it here: http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?...mp;mode=thread

apparently, this early version crashes more than the first edition of Windows 95...(I guess they wanted to make the Win experience as realistic as possible )

$99 for a Linux version of Windows seems hardly fair. BTW, Hamond, where did you get your avatar and who is it? It reminds me of someone, but I can't quite place him.

I thought that it was Karl Marx! I have studied him and various other Marxists for years now. Why did you choose his image, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm not so sure I really have a good reason... I was reading a biography on the guy (and some of his writings) when I stumbled on this site and I just thought it would be amusing to use him as an avatar.

I dunno too much about him, though...I wouldn't be able to really write a paper on his ideas or summarize any of his stuff (yet). I just thought it would be interesting to learn a little bit about 'im.

From what I've read so far, Karl and his accomplice Engels seem to have been very, very intelligent people (albeit with a few personal quirks). What do you think of Marx and other Marxists? (Don't forget that I'm not particularly knowledgable on this subject and that you might lose me if you discuss some things in too much depth)

    Ah, I'm sorry. :-[

You were probably hoping I knew more about the subject than I did... well, hopefully I'll have something to talk to you about before the year is over (after all, we were all newbies at one thing or another once, right? ).

I believe that the actual quote is this:

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."
