    Re:Bye bye Debian

A friend of mine has a server with Suse 7.3 hosting some webpages (Apache with php, perl and python module) and it has a uptime now of 64 days.
Not that high?? Well he installed the server 64 days ago ;D

ngene, leaving debian is the best thing that could happen to you. you will finally know what it's like to run current software instead of software that's 3 years old

    Re:Bye bye Debian

I had a heck of a time with Debian.
I found that Red Hat was easier for me to use.
Maybe later I will try it again when I learn more.

Yes, I have to confess. I love Red Hat.
I tried the other distros and I found that I like Red Hat 7.3 the best.
I don't know why I picked it, it just felt like the right one for me.
There is a local person, who I met at a his web site, that is helping me with learning RH.
I even wear a Red Hat hat, I love to promote and tell about Linux and it breaks the ice some times to talk about it with people.
Can you get a bumper sticker anywhere about RH?

    Re:Bye bye Debian

I am by far now, this boards RedHat slut.

    RedHat Fedora
    RedHat coffee mug
    RedHat mouse pad
    RedHat Tee Shirt

and, of course, a room full of boxes with RedHat as the OS.

And yes, you can probably buy RedHat stickers still. I had one.

    [edit]
I dont wear a RedHat baseball cap. My bosses wife make sports gear and made a really cool Linux hat for me this past christmas. Tux is on front with the Linux Powered logo, and an anti M$ logo on back.

bah change your source.list to unstable and dist-upgrade

my debian partition is pretty darn current that way and stable to boot.

It has a nice 2.4.18 kernel with only what it needs to runs that stuff i need

my libranet is right current so this fable that Debian is dated should be sent to /dev/null where it belongs

Fair enough :P. Is NGene still using SuSE 8.0 as her primary desktop OS?
