    Re: Bye bye Debian

Hey, hey... SuSE is a nice distro. I was a die-hard SuSE fan before I installed Debian. I still think it's the best rpm based distro and I was really impressed to see how polished it's become since 7.0 and YaST is also greater and easier than ever! This time even the graphical installer worked...

wvdial? Oh yes, I've heard that word sometime...
    /me goes checking the menu
w00t! I already have it installed! This is a scary distro!

I also noticed I don't have to start an app and navigate through menus before I can connect to internet... I just saw there's some little thingy in the KDE panel that lets me connect to internet only by clicking it.

Uhm... SuSE is a nice distro but it does everything for me and makes me feel like a Windows user ???

    Re: Bye bye Debian

I just bought and installed SuSE 8 and I must say I'm very impressed!
    WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Remember that Suse is the best of both words. It helps Windows users transition into Linux without feeling overwhelmed, but if you want to control the distro

    [glow=red,2,354] you can.[/glow]

Although I more than likely had nothing to do with NGene converting to SUSE, I consider this a personal victory

    Re:Bye bye Debian

Why can't everyone use the distro they like?? ???

Most of you don't like M$ because they want to force us to use their OS, Internet browser, bla bla,...
You all like Linux because you have the ability to CHOOSE!!!

And then I'm reading a thread where people try to force their own distro on someone. Isn't this exactly the attitude you all hate about M$??

How could I think that I can choose the distro I like?
So now that I'm switching over to Debian...what windowmanager can I use? Is KDE ok or do I have to use gnome?

Part of the fun of using Linux is having distro wars like this one. Sure you are free to use the distro you like, but we all know that Debian is the best :P, and sooner or later NGene will realise this again and come back.
And you can use whatwever windowmanager you want with Debian.

I've liked SuSE ever since they started defending against Satan2^H^H^H^H^H^HRansom Loves 'lets close linux' ideas.

Exactly. As long as no one seriously thinks everyone should use his/her distro, distro wars are fun ;D

but we all know that Debian is the best :P, and sooner or later NGene will realise this again and come back.
That could take some time... :P

What if I actually start liking the way SuSE spoon feeds me and never go back to Debian? :P

well rpm distros are ok, but once its time to install
more pkgs and upgrades you have a choice:
    1. rpm -ivh foo.bar
Error! failed dependencies ! give up now! ,,,,,OR
    2. back to debian 8)
