    Vhosts config in Apache

    i've added this to my Vhosts.conf .. but when i try to surf both sites (forums.homelinux.org and monkeys.kicks-ass.org) .. it will bring me to the main site (DocumentRoot). Is there any additional config to be added? Thanks in advance.

    Btw, I'm using Mandrake 10.1 for this.

    <VirtualHost 202.138.166.125>
    DocumentRoot /home/retro/public_html/forum
    ServerName forums.homelinux.org
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost 202.138.166.125>
    DocumentRoot /home/taciturn/public_html/forum
    ServerName monkeys.kicks-ass.org
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
    </VirtualHost>

    It's been a while since I've set this up ... but you need to set up a named virtual host.

    First add this line to httpd.conf ...

    Code:
    NameVirtualHost *
    You then setup your virtual hosts like this ...

    Code:
    <VirtualHost monkeys.kicks-ass.org>
    DocumentRoot /home/taciturn/public_html/forum
    ServerName monkeys.kicks-ass.org
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
    </VirtualHost>
    See if that works.

    is there any other way to setup this?

    Like:

    my main server is blah.homelinux.net
    and my vitual is blah2.homlinux.net

    just like what u did in ur webserver vern with my "digitalpimp.homelinux.org" before.

    Re: Vhosts config in Apache

    Like I said, set up named virtual hosts and make sure all virtual hosts use the same style. Play around with it for a bit. I don't have a Linux box to play around with right now, so I can't test anything.

    Better yet, give me root. heh.
