ok added the lines like you said and heres the error message I revieced.

You just added the "1024x768" "800x600" right after the "1152x864" on your existing "display" section right? You don't need any additional lines. And doing that shouldn't cause a failure. The resolution defaults to the first mode entry, "1152x864" in this case. Since that is still first, simply adding the additional modes after it and starting X normally should not have had any effect.

If it didn't like those new modes you wouldn't have known until you tried to "ctrl alt -" down to one of the other resolutions.

i didn't see that i already had that subsection with the resoulutions in it. Anyways its all working great now, but ctrl alt - or + doesn't work which doesn't really matter
