have you tried right-clicking it, and select "remove from bar"
yeah so i installed redhat 7.2 last night, everything seemed to go pretty well.
i got roaringpenguin up and running rather quickly
i got my soundcard (vortex2 chipset) running after searching down why it doesn't work easily with rh7.2, turns out modification of a header file and a symbolic link creation fixes that
and then i downloaded, compiled, and installed windowmake 0.80 and it runs but i have a simple question
by default on the dockapp there is that icon that if you doubleclick on it brings up an "about GNUstep" window
i don't need nor want that icon there anymore. does anyone know of a way to get rid of it? i'm at a loss ???
i remember on windowmaker 0.60 and earlier by default that dock icon wasn't there unless i ran wmaker.inst before running windowmaker. please help!

i'll try that when i get home from work. i didn't even know if that was an option. hope it is!
That won't work. The file you need to look at is ~/GNUStep/Defaults/WMState. It contains the description of the dock. Remove the section pertaining to the icon you want to eliminate. You should be able to figure it out.
well li figured out a quick fix...That won't work. *The file you need to look at is ~/GNUStep/Defaults/WMState. *It contains the description of the dock. *Remove the section pertaining to the icon you want to eliminate. *You should be able to figure it out.
i just right clicked the dock icon and choosed settings, then just changed the launch commands to be for xterm instead of having nothing there, and BANG! now it is no longer the irritating icon
i'll check out wmstate when i get home from work tonight.
