Fluxbox settings problems

Well, now my problem is keeping my settings, and getting the damn dock apps running. I've been constanly reading the man pages, and scouring the FluxBox site with no luck.

On the settings, I've changed all the 'init' files. Every one is exactly the same, but the changes don't take effect. I changed the 'Slit postion' to "CenterRight", and yet I've never seen it leave the BottomRight corner. Also, I chaged the background with 'xsri' & 'bsetbg', and it stays, but when I logout they changes are gone. My style will stay, but the bg will not even with the bg set in the style itself.

I set my .xinitrc file to look like this:

wmufo &
bbmail &
bbpager &
exec fluxbox

Unfortunatly, they do not work being in the .xinitrc file. If I execute them from 'xterm' or something like that, they load fine.

Try loading fluxbox at the start of it, and the rest after.

That wouldn't work, xfree will close when the last program on that list exits.

Try making them all "exec command &".

When you're done editing the init,do you change the permissions so it read only?I had problems with init getting written to default everytime I restarted fluxbox so I made it read only and has worked fine so far.

Ok, well I think it was working. I mean the apps would load, but then they wouldn't be 'active'. (?) I'm starting to think "Slit" has something to do with it, but then again, I don't know.

Ok, found my problem. Turns out ".xinitrc" was not what I needed to use. Added the lines to me ".Xclients-default" file, and viola! Works great now!
