Thread: FluxBox Q's

    Re: FluxBox Q's

I don't get how people always seem to have these same probs with blackbox and fluxbox.
All you gotta do is edit the style file thats in /usr/local/share/fluxbox
that you use to say something like so at the bottom:

    rootCommand: bsetbg /home/uriah/ustuff/images/bigglowtux.png

and don't use the lousy xdm, kdm, or gdm, just use .xinitrc
I don't ever mess with ~/.fluxbox stuff, and everything gets read and works just fine from the /usr/local/share/fluxbox directory.

But doesnt that make the changes global? One dirty way of limiting your friends from running stuff (or any user for that matter) is to make a completely bastardized ../share/fluxbox one and fix your ~/.fluxbox copy. Then again I may be overanalyzing this altogether.....

Yah, that makes the changes global, but I am the only one that uses
    this comp.

I figured as much... *See I run a small LAN at home and anyone who wants a login gets oneand I prefer they do only what I want them to do! *That means the menu files are severly bastardized and limited until I grant the ability to even do a shell prompt window. *I am a dick but my system is never gonna be borked like my NT one was routinely. *I do have templates of KDE, GNOME, and now Fluxbox menus and that has helped quite a bit -- especially in LAN parties. *People dont really need to know how to run Linux, just that the Quake Item on the Games folder runs Quake3 *

ooh -- remind me all in a few weeks once everyhting is setup for [glow=green,2,300]free[/glow] shell acocounts

Ah, okay. I figure(maybe I shouldn't) that I'm writing most of the time to
single desktop users like myself. I have a free shell account.
    Whats so good about them?
