Thread: Dual monitors?

    Dual monitors?

I usually have my windows box running with dual monitors, I pulled one of the graphics cards out of while I was installing linux to lessen the headaches it was already giving me, but now it seems to be working ok so I figured I might be brave and see what happens.

Has anyone had any joy with this? Is it even possible?

Be warned: if anyone says the words recompile, or kernel, I might have to kill them

Yes. The support is there. Although mine was when I installed it and it worked out of the box with Red Hat. Later, I had no use for it so I took it out when I reinstall the final touch with my desktop.

Then, you may not want the dual monitor option. Linux greatly depends on the kernel option for it to work really well and modularized it. After a couple of times or so, kernel recompiling is a breeze to do ......

    Re: Dual monitors?

In tha case, what is the easiest way to recompile a kernel? Its been mentioned that there is a gui for doing it and its a case of checking which options you want and away it goes. I have yet to find it though.

Call me lazy, but I just cant bear the thought of reading a 5000 page document several times before I know what to do.

But at least now I know its doable, the battle is half won ;D

I'll give that a try..pointy clicky is my friend.

Music to my ears I just put Mandrake on this box. I suspect installing it with one graphics card missing may have been a mistake after all.
