    Can't find named.conf

I am trying to configure DNS on a new linux box but for some reason I can't find the "named.conf" file in /etc/ directory. Why is this so? I assume without creating the zone file in there, my whole effort will be futile. How can I get the named.conf file? Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,

During your Linux installation did you choose to Bind ?, if not then insert your CD and reinstall the package or download the RPM from http://rpmfind.net

    Are running Fedora?

The Fedora installation CDs install BIND and a "chroot" BIND. The files re located in a different "chroot" locations.

The named.conf file will be found in /var/named/chroot/etc. The zone files will be found confusingly in /var/named/chroot/var/named.
