    Oh I know what a BBS is. I'm on one right now. But what does it have to do with putting a text-based app on a port?

    You could setup a passwordless guest account that runs in a chroot jail, and run the game from the jail.

    That's true. It probably wouldn't be so much of a security risk if I set the shell to the program. It's not the way I'd prefer to do it but I guess it'll work.

    netcat can be compiled to let you do this. i forgot how though. but yea look into netcat
