ps. i prefer gui
I use ncftp. Itīs not gui but itīs very easy to use. The manpage is very good.
gFTP is what I use. It's GUI and it's easy. It support SSH as well as normal FTP. Why not use what you already have and that's working?? ???
I have yet to find a GUI app that is as nice/stable/functional as gFTP. I also use ncftp and wget as well.
well i usually use cute ftp in windoze to get into my friends ftp site. i decided to try it with gFTP, had to uncheck passive mode and was able to get in succesfully. problem is, is that when i select a song, i use the arrow pointing to the left to transfer it, and i keep getting disconnect errors for some reason yet i can get right back in. is there a certain setting i might be missing somewhere? unless he has only a certain amount of users who can log in at the same time (although i doubt anyones there now) so i dont think thats it. although i see now that i can get files, but only after it reconnects severall times.
thanks

the best GUI ftp client for linux is definitely Igloo FTP-PRO
unfortunately it's closed source and u have to pay for it
but there's a trial version available though (at least it was available a year ago)
pftp is pretty neat small and fast, and has support for fxp which still isn't supported in gftp
fxp?
server to server transfers (very popular in the warez scenesfxp?)
