Networking Difficulties

I am a new and I have several questions I really would appreciate anyone/everyone's help on. I'll be as straight forward as possible.

Is it possible to network slackware 10 and suse 10?

How do you ping in suse?

How do I go about setting up this network from wired to wired, as well as wired to wireless?

How do you set up Remote Desktop?

This is not an attempt to take the easy way out and just get the answer I've been working on it for quite a bit reading forums and manual's but I still can't seem to get it working I appreciate any and all help people, thanks so much!

Yes, use ifconfig or netconfig to setup networking.

How do you ping in suse?

# ping 192.168.0.1

How do you set up Remote Desktop?

Use VNC Server
