Oh oh.. This does not look good, since there are _a lot_ of D-link nics out there.. and they all use different modules..
Well OK here it goes, the ones I've playd with..
D-link DFE-220 used to have a non working module, now it's part of the kernel and that module should work.
    D-link DFE-530tx Uses a module fetched from D-links server (ftp://www.d-link.co.uk)
D-link DFE-538tx Uses the the tulip module, it used to require a module of its own, but not with the latest kernels.
D-link DFE-538tx+ Uses the rtl8139_too module. (Or is it called rtl8139 now, can't remember)
D-link DFE-660tx Uses the tulip module

Oh and by the way, there should be a fair chance at getting a linux_driver.tgz from the mentioned ftp URL, if you happen to have an unmentioned NIC.

If you don't know the model, you can look up the chip and see if you can get the clue or on the borad itself will have some kind of identification. Then you can reference with DLink site or post it here ( prefer with pictures also ) so that we can help you look for it.

Just saying an old NIC won't help you out here. We don't work for DLink as well as we don't pocess extreme powers to see what NIC you have ( either old or new ).

Actually i think it uses the via-rhine driver, at least thats what the documentation said for the dfe-530tx off their site.

It is the rhine module. I used to have a pair in my linux rig at work.
