Thread: Joystick

  1. #1

I am brand new to Linux, using Suse 8.0. I have an MS Sidewinder Precison Pro 2 joystick and an MS Sidewinder Game Pad (about 5-6 years old). Neither of them are showing up or working. Any ideas how to get them to work? Thanks.

Are these USB devices? If they are look in /var/log/messages. You will probably see entries that the devices are detected, but the device isn't claimed by an sctive driver.

    It will look like this.
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x805) is not claimed by any active driver.

If you see these lines post them. I would like to see what the "vend/prod" numbers it displays.

Thanks for your reply Jim. Here are the messages I got...

    usb.c USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x50d/0xf51)
    usb.c USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x46d/0xc504)
    usb.c USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x781/0x2)

Let me know what you think.
