if the fan is loud, try swapping it with another. *Or move where it is getting voltage from and try lowering the voltage. *If you know electronics you know you have a +12V, -12V, +5V, -5V, and ground lines with the red line going to one *and the black going to another. *The total voltage will be the Red - Black. * So you can get a nice voltage by playing with that. *For example, a nice 24 volts can be applied by putting the Red on the +12V and the black on the -12V. *Note that a 24V rated fan would be needed for the example to enjoy the fan for more than a week *Been there done that. *5v fans hate being wired at 24V. *Now if it is rated at 12, try going to 10 or 7 volts. *If the fan is dying, just replace it alogether -- save yourself the time and effort of dicking with your atx connector.
