I was trying to say that with my last post...lol, you said it in a less verbose way! *I think ph34r is right, though. *While you won't be able to drop two 800mhz classic socket a T-birds in and do the dually thing, you should be able to use one older one until you can afford to buy two of the smp-aware models. *Sounds like a great idea to me.
I think that is a great idea. Do you recommend any multiprocessor motherboards?

the xp and mp can do multi processor, the older tbirds can't.
Yeah, that's the problem for now. The chip you sent is older processor which can't do SMP. I will just have to wait and upgrade when the XPs get cheaper, I guess. But this one upgrade should gave me some power boost though.... Thanks 8)

I was under the impression that Duron/XP/MP were socket A and the older Athlons were slot A. *Is your 800 a slot or a socket?
There were older Slot A athlons as well as Socket A athlons. The older socket A athlons do not support SMP set up.

Here are the AMD recommended motherboards for the MP processor.
    Tyan Thunder K7 (S2462) (pricewatch: ~190usd)
Tyan Tiger MPX (S2466) (pricewatch: ~210usd)
    Microstar (MSI) K7D Master (MS-6501) (pricewatch: ~199usd)
    Asus A7M266-D (pricewatch: ~90usd)
The Asus is definitely the best price-wise. *The Tyan Tiger looks best specs-wise, but I don't think I can afford one. *What do you think?
