Slow internet- Linksys Router Sharing Cable

I had my internet set up through dhcp. Everything was working fine except that loading internet pages was slow. Funny thing was that I download at speeds of 200 kb. That's why I don't know why it takes 17 second to download GOOGLE while it takes it about 2 seconds to load it on my xp machine. My system is a 500 mhz 192 ram 15 gig, etc.- its a decent system. Any ideas?

PS I think it is the ram because it takes a while for progs and other stuff to open.

Well it might be your RAM. Does your system lock up alot? The other thing is how many services do you have running on your box? It might not be your connection at all, it might be your box running exsessive things.Have you checked out those sites that clock your line speed for free. I can't think of the names off hand.
