My question again: unless you play games on your computer, what advantage such video card would have for you vs. a $50 video card?

I'm impressed by the specs for this baby...

Never been there, but I want to see it sometime.
San Francisco?
Agreed! The wuestion I have is not will it perform -- but will they do Linux drivers. If I buy it, it had better have some Linux support. And I would prefer linux binaries/source for d/l over having half done community drivers.
AFAIK Matrox has always produced Open Source Drivers for Linux.

I saw that too LC, I wannt know how it performs before I give up on ATI. Good thing about Matrox is that their 2d and 3d are as good as ATI's is. ;D
I havent owned a Matrox since I went Linux only. The cards were good. I just never dive into drivers for stuff until I am thinking about buying one of the products.
