WAV to MP3 converter ??

lame is a good CLI converter. In the GUI realm I've tried both ripperX and grip and like grip the best. (I ran into problems with ripperX and could only run it as root--however, grip is still a nicer program). Both grip and ripperX are GUI front-ends for lame, in addition to a number of other CLI converters.

Dont forget that LAME is quicker than a jackrabbit and makes mp3's that are of an extremely high quality. I love it -- plus all I gotta do is run a script I built and bam after work I got 3 CD's ripped at over 300K. Aint technology great

Ah thanks. A link would be nice but not necessary. I think I will go with command line and also will try what Tolstoy said. I'm converting from tape to MP3.
