hello,
you should be able to do an rpm -Uvh mozilla.096.xxx.rpm without any problems except maybe if you have mozilla mail, psm, chat and devel installed, i remove those items and then ido the -Uvh thing. i have had zero problems.
Accidently started using Mozilla when Netscape 6.2 gave me problems. I like better than Netscape! Can it upgraded (rpm) without having to take current version out and installing new version? Also 2) If I remove Netscape (nodeps) will it affect Mozilla adversely? Thanks for your help!

I'd download & run the net installer for mozilla 0.9.6 if I was doing it.
Galeon makes a sweet front-end for it. It uses the mozilla rendering engine and plugins. And the two versions are in sync at the moment!

If you're worried about losing all your bookmarks and settings, Mozilla stores all that for a certain user in /home/user/.mozilla. When you uninstall it, it won't erase this directory so the new one should retain them as long as they're compatible with it. Occasionally while upgrading through ports though I lose my bookmarks. I have no idea why so be careful and backup that directory if it's important to you.
