    Problem Unpacking Flash Plug-In

    Just installed Slack 8 on my main desktop, and at last get to have a look at Galeon (it rocks). Went to a site with a bit of Flash, and had to download the Flash plug-in. Went to unpack it and got the following error:

    $ gunzip flash_linux.tar.gz

    gunzip: flash_linux.tar.gz: not in gzip format

    $

    tar -zxvf and bunzip2 both return similar errors. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I could copy it to a windows machine and unpack it there, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having this box boot into Linux.

    I'm pretty sure the instructions included with it will work (for netscape). Look for that other thread I posted ("Anybody do flash?&quot, somebody posted where to put those files for it to work with mozilla.

    Managed to work it out myself. It's amazing what you can find if you actually look (Did someone say RTFM? ;p )

    I've been using RH or Debian since I started with Linux, and with the recent change to Slack, some things aren't where I expected them to be. I find that there is something about Slackware that grabs me. Not sure what it is, but it's there.
