    Xine and encrypted DVD's

I found out that xine doesn't play encrypted DVD's. I bought a DVD-ROM thinking I could watch DVD's on my Linux box but I can't.

There is information on how to watch encrypted DVD's using xine in the FAQ I belive. You just need to use a patch (they have to do it this way because of American law).

while its easy to find the patches, its difficult to get them to work. I just picked up the new version of Xine, so i have to wait on the "patchers" to catch up.

You need the d4d plugin available from http://www.geocities.com/captain_css/ of which is linked from the Xine homepage.

The problem is, that url is not working for some reason.

I've installed the latest Xine 0.97 and d4d plugin 0.30 and both work fine together.

If you need xine_d4d_plugin-0.3.0.tar.gz then let me know and I can email the package to you.
