are there any other suspicois processes running? can you turn off swap then turn it back on and see if that helps?
I'm using Opera 6.0 (Technology Preview or what the hell they wanna call it) and I don't have any problems with it, except for one thing: whenever I try to save a website with images to my puter, everything gets unbelievably slow! Killing Opera or X doesn't help anything... everything's still incredibly slow, even on CLI. For example, I execute a simple command like ls, press Enter and I have to wait at least one minute before anything happens!
When I check out the memory usage, I can see that there isn't much ram used, but there's like 100 megs stuff swapped! I have 512 megs ram, and normally there's absolutely nothing swapped because there's no need for that.
When my puter is getting slow, it seems like the only way to make things working again is (AAAGHH!!!) a reboot.
What's happening here? Is it a bug in Opera, or is it because my system is pretty old (Potato... please don't laugh)?

Could it be that Opera 6.0 still is in pre-beta and therefor unstable like hell and as for the potato situation, I'll bring some woody CDs for you when I get to Finland.
